Challenge

Sonic was looking for an innovative way for people to donate to their Limeades for Learning campaign, which gives over half a million dollars to public school classrooms every year. They needed a solution to drive awareness, encourage social sharing and enable consumer voting for the program.

Solution

Sonic used the ScanLife platform to deploy QR Codes on millions of cups at more than 3,500 drive-ins nationwide. Customers scanned the codes for easy access to a mobile-optimized version of LimeadesForLearning.com in order to vote and donate to their favorite teacher projects. In addition to voting and donating, users could also watch a thank you video and share the page via social media. By placing QR Codes on millions of SONIC cups at more than 3,500 drive-ins nationwide, customers can easily access a mobile-optimized version of LimeadesForLearning.com to vote for and/or donate to their favorite teacher projects.
