Ford was a lead sponsor of Internet Week in NYC, one of the largest and most respected digital conferences in the world. It needed an innovative and exciting way to promote their Ford Focus in a engaging way through the use QR Codes in a more advanced way. They also wanted to use custom codes that conveyed the brand image in a noticeable way.


Ford created the “Ford Focus Hunt” which asked users to scan a new QR Code each day and collect badges that signify a unique benefit of the Focus. ScanLife provided Ford with the premium data feed feature which passes anonymous data in real time to make it simple to collect the badges. The user would automatically add a new badge each time they scanned a new code – once they collect all five, they are entered to win VIP tickets to the Webby awards.
